The founder, Suresh Kr Agarwal, started modestly when, with the support
of his cousins,he set up a Sanitary and Ceramics Store in Siliguri in 1980.
The store, M/s Garg Enterprises, was the first to supply readymade flooring tiles, which helped it to gain steady popularity. Even when competition increased, Suresh’s hard work and persistence saw the business flourish. Garg Enterprises became a market leader in sanitary-ware and ceramics.
It was in the year 2000 that Suresh took a leap of faith to venture into real estate development by leveraging his knowledge of Siliguri’s building trade. The first property of 16000 square feet, Shanti Tower, was leased out to one of east India’s leading clothing and apparel brands, Citi Style.
Despite many hardships, including 2 major accidents and a family partition, which slowed him down, Suresh’s spirit to create new things could not be curbed. He promoted an array of commercial projects at strategic locations, and then moved to residential building. Till date Tulsa has successfully finished and delivered about 8 lakh square feet in the city.
Representing the next generation of the Tulsa family, Pratik Garg joined
the company in May 2010 to spearhead ambitions in residential development.
A commerce graduate from Delhi University and MBA in Family Business Management from IIM Calcutta, he is also instrumental for starting operations in Guwahati city, where the first project, Temple Tower, is under completion. Today, we have close to 14 lakh square feet under construction.
Apart from his contributions to the real estate business, Pratik is also known for his stellar role in adding resources for the Siliguri business community. He has been the prime driver behind the Siliguri chapters of Toastmasters International, BNI, Venture Catalysts, Gold’s Gym, MACJ-ABCHI Home Inspections, and created a start-up: Chatterbox to mark his interests in 21st century business pursuits.
